We haven't exactly been overwhelmed with enquiries about our upcoming event so here is some more information which we hope will pique your interest.
We are ringing from 5:30 to 7:30 PM on Friday evening July 8th. We will ring again on Saturday morning probably from 9:30 to 11:30 AM. That gives us all time to have a leisurely lunch before we host an afternoon Open House for the citizens of Victoria. At the Open House we would welcome help from our visiting ringers in demonstrating our art (i.e. there will be more opportunity for our visitors to ring).
On Sunday morning, we will ring for both services. The first touch can include visiting ringers who are not expert. The service touches will be rung by the best ringers in the tower, which likely will include both visitors and locals.
During the services there will be handbell ringing. A peal attempt will take place on Sunday afternoon.
We are planning a catered dinner at the home of one of our ringers (probably on Saturday evening). Our visitors will certainly be included in that. There may be a charge to cover the expense. We are only looking at cost recovery - not profit.
There will be accommodation (billets) for a limited number of ringers - first come, first served - some double occupancy beds.
If you enjoyed visiting the west coast for the AGM in 2006, please consider coming back. If you haven't visited us before, please think about including Victoria in your summer holiday plans.
