Soon bookclubs everywhere will be reading Tracy Chevalier's new book "A Single Thread" and this should be of interest to ringers because one the main characters is a bellringer. On September 17 The Washington Post interviewed the author. The conversation closed with Chevalier saying "And I love the idea of “rope sight.” When you’re standing in a circle, you have to be aware of what you’re doing and what everybody else is doing and how you fit in. It’s the perfect metaphor for how we should live our lives. I wanted to call the book “Rope Sight,” except it sounded like a thriller."

This book was reviewed on NPR this morning and the review included a trip to Winchester Cathedral and included a gentleman raising a bell.

The number of readers who know about change ringing is about to go way up. I see book club tours of our tower in the future.
