This IS meant as a humorous post.

A number of other organizations have taken interest in following the lead of NAGCR with its recent proposed amendment regarding membership in the organization. This amendment would allow non-ringers to become full, voting members of the organization which has been devoted to the exercise of Change Ringing since its inception. Heading the list of "me too" organizations is the INS (Immigration and Naturalization Service). Their news release said in part: "Having non-ringers become full voting members of a ringing guild really got us thinking. We've now decided to allow non-US citizens to become full voting citizens. All they have to do is express an interest in the US and they're in." NASA also is following the same path. Their announcement said: "We've been too exclusionary in the past. Requiring astronauts to undergo training and learn to perform tasks while in space is really passe. Now all people have to do is to express an interest in space and they become full participants in the space program -- no experience needed."

Now I really do hope that everyone gets the humor of this.

And, as a part of my posting of this, I do apologize in advance for any hurt feelings. None were intended. Moreover, this will be my last post on this subject. I will also post no further comments. Everyone knows my position. From here on I leave it to the good judgement and discretion of the membership to sort this all out.
