I’m running for election as a NAG representative to the Central Council this year. The areas where I hope to be active are two: the training and development of ringers, and the public perception of change-ringing. These are both strategic purposes of the NAG, and are goals dear to me.

I expect during the first year to be largely (if not exclusively) lying low and learning how things work, but I shall also hope to become involved, at some point, with the CC Committees on Education and Public Relations. My home tower, Trinity Wall Street, has a long record of providing good training, and enjoys superb public relations. We are working at present on our part of the ABC Christmas Special of Lessons and Carols to be broadcast from Trinity on the nation-wide network, on December 25th. As far as I know this will be one of the first times that ringing (as opposed to the sound of bells) has featured in such a program.

I look forward to the opportunity of serving in this position, and would ask for your support in this endeavor.
