Clarification of performance submission process

Since Campanophile was down for a few days earlier this year, there's been some confusion about electronic submission of peal and quarter-peal details to The Clapper. It's been made even more confusing as the capabilities of Bellboard have rapidly increased since that time.

There are lots of ways to do things that will work, but the easiest is probably still to just use the NAGCR-specific form on Campanophile: http://campanophile.co.uk/nag.aspx. You need to register on Campanophile to use it, but registration is free, and it's really just to give you a persistent identity so you can edit things you've previously entered.

Everything you enter here will go to the Clapper Editor or Peal Secretary, depending upon the length of the performance; and will be entered on both Campanophile and Bellboard; and, if you check the appropriate box, will be submitted for publication in The Ringing World, too. Enter it once, and have it published in four places (six for peals, if you count peals.co.uk and Felstead).

When making corrections it is best to amend the performance on Campanophile. This will correct it on both Campanophile and Bellboard, and will send a notice of said correction to the Clapper Editor or Peal Secretary, as appropriate. It causes less confusion than deleting it and starting over; or worse, entering a duplicate.

However, once you've submitted something to The Ringing World, if you want to amend that you will need to send email directly to the RW. The addresses to use are peals@ringingworld.co.uk for peals, and quarters@ringingworld.co.uk for quarters.
