Starting in April 2020, various individuals and groups have been pumping out videos on YouTube about all sorts of ringing topics and of interest to ringers at various skill levels. The Central Council has posted a searchable index of these at https://cccbr.org.uk/youtube-index/. Some are short, instructional videos. Some are longer (30 minutes to 1-1/2 hour) talks/webinars.
Several, aimed at early stage ringers who have Abel on their PCs, have the goal of helping ringers continue to make progress in skills they’d normally be learning in tower through solidifying concepts which they’ll be able to apply once back in the tower. [I’ve not used Mabel, but if it works like Abel, and has the “Moving Ringers” display option, these videos may apply to Mabel as well as Abel.]
Some cover topics that are more about theory, than practice, so may be of interest to ringers at any level. Some even aim to help people who’re just trying out handbell ringing (real or virtual).
If your tower or handbell group is meeting virtually these days, think about running one of the talks via shared screen video with discussion to follow (or at paused breaks during the talk). Or have people watch on their own and then have a video gathering to discuss. Or just enjoy them on your own. There’s some interesting material out there! New videos continue to come out, and the Council will add to the index as they hear about them.
Here are the categories of videos:
