The ringers of Christ Church Cathedral, Victoria, BC, Canada are mourning the death of our much loved and respected senior ringer, Dr. Alan Batten, one of the founding members of the North American Guild He rang in our tower for 65 years. The last time he rang was barely a month ago. He was proud to be able to climb the 71 stairs and ring with us at ninety-one years old. The date of his death was July 30, 2024.
